BOSS FRUSTRATED AT EARLY STARTS

BOSS FRUSTRATED AT EARLY STARTS Jimmy Rice 23 August 2007
Rafa Benitez has hit out at the number of early kick-offs Liverpool are being forced to play.
The Spaniard is frustrated that his side will have to contest four early kick-offs before December, including this weekend's tricky trip to Sunderland which comes after 15 of his players were away on international duty. The Reds also face lunch-time visits to Portsmouth, Newcastle and Everton in the coming months. "On Saturday we will go to play another away game with an early kick-off after internationals in midweek," said Benitez. "We have four of these games before December. Last year we had 10 or 12 of them. We had to play eight away games after Champions League matches. "When you play on Wednesday, you must play on a Sunday - you cannot play on a Saturday. If you look at last season, a lot of teams were playing Tuesday and then Sunday, but we were playing Wednesday and Saturday. "This season we have early kick-offs at places like Newcastle and Portsmouth – but then if we don't win people will wonder why our away form is not consistent. "I want to be treated the same as the other teams regarding early kick-offs."
